The Oromia forested landscape program (OFLP) is one of the national REDD+ pilots. It encompasses  a long-term programmatic effort to scale up and finance improved land use starting with a mobilization grant followed by results-based payments for verified emissions reductions.
The OFLP will be Oromia’s strategic programmatic umbrella and coordination platform for multi-sector and multi-partner interventions on all forested landscapes in the region.

The OFLP aims to reduce net greenhouse gas emission and improve sustainable forest management throughout the region. The OFLP addresses drivers of deforestation and forest degradation in an integrated way, convening sectors, stakeholders and support for coordinated action on investment, incentives and institutions. Considering the trade-offs and synergies between different land uses, such as agriculture, energy, and forest protection, the OFLP offers integrated solutions that serve multiple objectives.
