Advanced Draft Benefit Sharing Plan

Summary:  

The advanced draft Benefit Sharing Plan (BSP) for Ethiopia’s Oromia National Regional State Forested Landscape Program is prepared in anticipation of benefits coming as a result of verified emission reduction  (ER) to be generated  in the whole of Oromia Regional State (jurisdiction) due to interventions of enabling environment (policy and institutions, incentives, information and environmental and social safeguards), and enabling investments (integrated land use planning, sustainable forest management/participatory forest management, afforestation and reforestation), leading to reducing emission from deforestation and forest degradation, and enhancement forest carbon stock.Readmore

BioCarbon Fund Organizes ERPA Workshop

The BioCarbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes (BIOCF ISFL) has discussed Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA) modalities with relevant actors and stakeholders of the Oromia Forested Landscape Program in a two days’ virtual workshop.The event was arranged as preliminary activity, ahead of the upcoming ERPA negotiations and signature, to create awareness among relevant actors of process.Readmore

 OFLP Analyses Field supervision Findings

OFLP Distributes Seeds, Polythene Tube for Upcoming Plantation   

December 2020, Addis Ababa                                                                                                     

The Oromia Forested Landscape Program (OFLP) has distributed over 24,000 KG of seeds and Polythene Tube to various zones and Weredas for the upcoming plantation season. According to Ato Getu Shiferaw, ORCU Forest         Specialist, 2,374 KG seeds of various types, have been purchased and distributed to different zones and respective weredas of program intervention to be used for 2020/21 plantation season. Read More

Community based tree planting campaign in Buno Bedelle Zone.                     

Local community-based organizations (CBOs) in Buno Bedele zone, Oromia region, have conducted tree planting campaigns this rainy season in various Oromia Forested Landscape Program (OFLP) intervention areas. The campaign is part of the A/R plan of OFLP taking place every rainy season since 2017. It is aimed to contribute for the reduction of Greenhouse Gases emission reduction, which is one of the program development objectives of OFLP. Read More
